A vintage Model A was rear ended yesterday in Sherman Oaks, CA, and nearby heroes were on the scene to rescue the 65 year old driver from the burning wreckage.

On Today Now!, author Christine Eckard teaches Jim and Tracy to imagine economic problems as oily, curly-haired "Grabblers."
No idea on the details or even where it is. What bridge is that? The video description claims it's some sort of Crime syndicate car collection seized by the FBI or "Stolen".. Pretty cool to hear the engine roar near the end.
So I guess Bert & Ernie's technique really does work.

According to the guy who made the video his cousin had an epileptic seizure with a knife in her hand and, apparently, cut herself badly. When she went to the hospital, the Doctors did not believe her explanation and accused her of attempting suicide and placed the woman on a 72 hour psychiatric hold.
The woman called her family and, of course, they went to rescue her with her kids and a video camera in tow.
Yeah, it's true...
This one is for big.

Garry Kasparov is arguably the greatest chess player who has ever lived. In 1997 he played a chess match against IBM's computer Deep Blue. Kasparov lost the match. This film shows the match and the events surrounding it from Kasparov's perspective. It delves into the psychological aspects of the game, paranoia surrounding it and suspicions that have arisen around IBM's true tactics. It consists of interviews with Kasparov, his manager, chess experts, and members of the IBM Deep Blue team, as well as original footage of the match itself.
This guy (Jack Vale) walks around a walmart pretending to be on his cellphone, describing people's clothings and their actions. They overhear him on his phone and get paranoid to what the hell is this guy doing. Clickity click to view.

The War On Democracy by John Pilger
"As technology advances, we have to revisit questions about what is and what is not private information," said Gregory Nojeim, senior counsel at the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Democracy and Technology. Online services like Google and Bing give users very detailed images of practically any location on the planet. Though some images are months old, they make it possible for someone sitting in a living room in Brooklyn to look in on folks in Dublin or Prague, or even down the street in Flatbush. Sean Walter, an attorney and first-term town supervisor in Riverhead, N.Y., insists he is a staunch defender of privacy rights and the Fourth Amendment, which protects against unreasonable search and seizure.

Authorities say an upstate New York woman has been charged with child endangerment after witnesses told police she took her daughter for a swim in the dangerous waters at the base of Niagara Falls. Police at Niagara Falls State Park say Jaime Lynn Bailey of Trumansburg was charged Wednesday evening after she took her daughter to an off-limits area at the base of the American side of the Falls. Police say Bailey, the girl and two men had climbed over a stone wall to get to the restricted, boulder-strewn area, where witnesses reported seeing them in the water. Bailey was charged with endangering the welfare of the child, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
