Ah the 6.2.......slobbering beast. I hear they HATE biodiesel...something with the ECM that doesn't like the fuel weight and it shuts it down. I can get some parts for those. Anyhoo......If you can find any of those Cummins engine cores.......they are worth it. Lots of people looking for cores to rebuild or part out. We don't do any thing outside of engines and gears generally and if we do, we are going to use OEM. Mostly, we are Class 8 trucks, but we do some smaller rigs (almost exclusively the cummins). We do short and long blocks. I haven't had say, piston or rings going bad at all......we have been doing this for over 20 years, so we have it felt out......or up....however you would like to look at it. I started out building camfollowers at 16........................I still build camfollowers..............hahaha!

If you want to do some networking I can send you a link to our site. Always willing to trade or sell or just get info from. I have logins to the official Cummins and Cat sites so I can look up serial numbers and send schematics and part numbers. I think we could help each other out.........if even a couple of times, it's worth it.

Well, we are an aftermarket dealer.........so it is hard to get away from chinese made or paki made, or mexican made etc. What is really surprising is that even the OEM will buy the same parts from the same factories that the aftermarket are buying from. It's just that the OEM's run their own quality control and silkscreen their own name on it. The OEM also don't provide a warranty, while the aftermarket offers a year warranty.
From time to time we run into some problems, but they always give us our money back if we don't like it. Whereas Cummins, Cat or Detroit would pretty much tell us to pound sand. Not that we can afford to carry their name anyway........

If you ever want to get into the Cummins diesel truck engine kits (4BT, 6BT, ISB) for the Ram trucks, I could get you hooked up. Don't know how much demand you got out that way for that shit, but it might be something to think aboot. Especially, if there isn't anyone doing that in your area. Even if you want something for personal use diesel wise, I can help a brotha out.

Here is how I haggle.................go check the OEM price. Then come back and pay me my asking price. But I do give deals on other stuff if you buy an engine kit or some other large purchase or even free stuff here and there.

How many Russians do you deal with in the auto business Fido? I deal with quite a few and there are some hard and fast rules I have learned in dealing with them.....

Rule# 1: Don't give them anything for free. Ever.

Rule# 2: Don't haggle with these people. If you do it once, they will fucking hound you and waste your time everytime they come in. This also applies to rule 1.

Rule# 3: Don't be overly nice. Really, this rule is related in a way to the first two. I swear to god, if you do, they see it as a sign of weakness or stupidity. You have to be a lot more firm with them than a lot of others. (i.e mexicans, canadians) They seem to respect that.

Russians around here is a fairly new deal. Most immigrants around these parts were mostly asian (japanese, korean, chinese). My point was it seems if you treat them too kind, they seem to see that as an "in" to get one over on you. Like they don't see it as you being kind, but as being weak. Oooo, oooo! I think it actually has worked remarkably well in the last couple decades.  This really is the most peaceful time in history, and we really have been able to minimize civilian losses, and restructure states far better than the past.

There have been hundreds of missions like these over the years... and they have largely gone unnoticed because things don't dramatically fall apart too often.
