If only people could play games on linux, the other OS'd be grovelling at its feet.
that is the number one thing holding it back, IMO. but with computers getting so fast, and having 8 gigs of ram as a standard now, wont be long before you can just emulate windows in linux and run whatever you want, even high end games.
bring on gallium 3d! just think, by the time im back from aus, it'll prob be complete and working, opengl 1-4 and dx 10/11 native on linux. woot
I don't understand why the physical harm of Alcohol >tobacco
"Smoking-related diseases killed 14,900 Australians in the financial year 2004–05. This equals 40 preventable deaths every day. The major tobacco-related diseases include cancer, heart disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Smoking resulted in over 750,000 days spent in hospital and cost $670 million in hospital costs in the financial year 200405"
alcohol misuse costs the Australian community 15.3 billion dollars each year when factors such as crime and violence, treatment costs, loss of productivity and premature death were taken into account [1]
51% of alcohol consumed is drunk at levels that pose a risk of short-term harm [2]
over 3 000 Australians die each year as a result of harmful drinking [3]
over 450 000 children (13.2%) live in households where they are at risk of exposure to binge drinking by at least one adult [4]
...and PC kicks the living shit out of everything.
I took it as a troll story. It may be the alcohol speaking... it may be the awesome curry I just made... But I like my PC. Even if I do have to dual boot into windows because I can't be fraked working with open office in linux. I could get MS word working in it but meh. Goddamit I hate windows.
LOL, so someone breaks into your house......you can't have a fucking gun, cuz no those things have a mind of their own and they've been known to have a short fuse and even kill people.........so while the robber is raping your wife you pick up the phone and hope to fuck he don't find out or you're dead, you call 911 and a 5 foot 2 woman shows up to save you............YAY
next thing you know they'll let bendys join the force, or people in wheelchairs... the Political correctness sickens me
WOmen shouldn't be cops. Being a police officer or army member isn't about being in a fashion show. In all Cops episodes i've seen or in all police videos i've ever seen I've never seen a normal fully grown ladycop take down any man they were apprehending without help.
Doesn't that tell anyone anything??? It's not sexism, it's biology.
I do not think we should judge the "worst dictator" as the one who killed the most people, the effect, though tragic may have few overall historical consequences. Even then there there is a villain to which all the others pale by comparison. Undoubtedly then, (for me) the single greatest blight on human social and intellectual development, (over a 1000 years worth) the one whom probably has been responsible for the greatest amount of human misery and general retardation would have to be...
I wish she was Socialist, then she might not have such a bug up her arse about gay marriage.
"First, Australians are now rejecting the narrative that China is simply becoming a much bigger version of Japan or South Korea: a private sector-led economy that would inevitably give rise to the emergence of a prosperous and independent middle class demanding political reform."
This statement presupposes that Australians have thoughts beyond cost of living pressures and "ZOMG! Boat people are invading!" - they do not, as such the quoted passage is false.
In all seriousness, I quite like fat women, but not the morbidly obese types. Being ridden by a nice meaty girl is one of lifes simple pleasures. It's the inertia they generate during the act of lovemaking which I like, it's quite erotic
I define fat women when rolls start appearing and the stomach becomes fattened to the point where they cannot see their pussy when naked.

I'm also interested in the concept of lawful rebellion. But I recommend someone forbids Wolffe from learning anything further about it, the entire sovereignty of Canada is at stake.
Lawful rebellion is a misnomer. Lawful, being "in accordance with the law", rebelling is always against the law. That doesn't mean the rebellion cannot be Just however, but it is always certainly against the law. If rebelling in a certain way was lawful people would rebel with violence with no consequences for the slightest things
I agree, However, the notion can be coherent if the rebellion is in the context of the state not upholding its end of the social contract. The American civil rights movement could be an example. Black Americans at that time could be regarded as not having an obligation to follow the states laws (excluding those that legally enshrine human rights) given how the state was constantly violating their rights (to education and equal treatment in general i.e. segregation was big time BS). Whether that obligation is a legal one I'm unsure of.
one thing that interests me, if they get things under control, it is a testament to how much advancement there has been in nuclear and to the saftey of it.
if it all melts in their face, we wont have any new nuclear plants for years and years.
you tree-huggers better hope they fix it
Good opportunity for Japan to install Thorium reactors
unless they keep her from mirrors, someday the poor thing's inevitably going to notice she's not really like other people. especially the skeletors and spraytan-junkies gracing advertising worldwide. and it won't matter if she HAS cured AIDS... she'll be heartbroken, and completely hate the way she looks and has to live. no surgery or self-esteem workshops are gonna fix that.
prevent her ever being born? erm. it's kinda hard to see details on ultrasounds... or know you're birthing a 'tard without amniocentesis. so abortion isn't really the issue at hand. it's kinda just a tragedy. and i kinda just feel terribly sorry for her and her caretakers. unless she has angelman syndrome; then she's blissfully content all the time. YAY!
to keep it abortion-relevant, there are some diseases detected early on in pregnancy which force a mother to decide if it's worth going through the pregnancy. the fetus is more likely to miscarry, be unviable at birth, or suffer defects. one such illness is rubella AKA german measles. i had a friend plan a pregnancy with her husband, but be encouraged to abort by healthcare professionals because she and the unborn baby had contracted german measles and already the tiny fetus was showing signs of cardiac abnormalities. she was eventually talked into terminating and doesn't regret it. thoughts?
I think quality of life should be axiomatic when considering abortions. If the child is gonna be massively deformed, and it cannot partake in the bounty of intellectual and sensual wonders, then you're not doing it any favours by keeping alive for the sake of an ideological view abouyt the innate goodness of human existence. We are all slaves to the passions, and willingly so. A life forever exiled from life's beauty is no life at all.
In Oz you need agreement from all five attorney generals in their respective states to make changes to the censorship laws - unfortunately, at least 1 of them at any one time is a complete fucktard.
Things are slowly changing however, the gov recently released a white paper which surveyed a zillion Australians with indicated 90% or something support for an R18 classification for games.
