The workers arrived at Sergei Khlystov's gate on a Friday evening to bulldoze his home and clear a path for sewage pipes to the Olympic village being built in the Russian city of Sochi.
Khlystov and his 33-year-old son-in-law, Maxim Samokhval, at first tried to block the workers but then stood aside and watched as the two-storey house was destroyed.
He was previously jailed for three years in 2009 after trespassing in a private home and being found standing over a sleeping student, whose trousers had been pulled down.

Watching the new ‘Mandarin Mermaid’ glide to another suspiciously easy victory yesterday - the prelude to what will doubtless be her second gold medal of these Games - my thoughts returned to the disturbing interview I conducted with another swimming sensation many years ago. Just like China’s Ye Shiwen, East German Petra Schneider had astonished the world in winning the 400 metres medley - this time at the 1980 Moscow Olympics - producing a performance of such awesome power that her rivals (including Britain’s Sharron Davis, who won silver) seemed to be lesser mortals.

In 2012, Texan smallholder Lord Sebastian Coe decided to bring the Olympics to London after a series of hallucinatory visions culminated with a poorly-drawn 2012 logo appearing in his field of wheat. Lord Coe immediately left for England with his wife JoBeth and eldest son Cleetus, where he raised the necessary funds through a mixture of sponsorship and selling home-made whiskey. Coe believes that the 2012 games will culminate in the arrival of a spacecraft that will kill everyone he doesn’t like with a heat ray before whisking him off to the planet Altair to live in a luxury bungalow. Watch the skies.
Thousands of athletes and officials begin arriving in London for the Olympic Games, as questions remain about security recruitment.
