OK so I'm gonna daddy-brag a bit...my son Lennon's birthday is Wednesday, and I had this idea because I found these 9x12 slabs of rigid-thick cardboard. I penciled off the lines, picked 6 areas (2 sets of opposite corners, top and bottom borders, letter, and letter background), the 6 colors of card frames in Magic the Gathering (black, white, blue, green, red, gold), and arranged them so each color would be in each area once. Masking taped the areas for each color one at a time, applied at least 2 coats of acrylic paint to each color (white and gold needed 3), sanding lightly with 400 grit sandpaper between each coat. Then stuck them in the freezer to peel the tape as clean as possible, had to do that process 6 times.

A San Francisco couple tracked down a man they suspected of pimping their teenage daughter and shot him to death, according to authorities.
Barry Gilton and his long-term girlfriend Lupe Mercado appeared in San Francisco Superior Court on Wednesday on charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and one count of discharging a firearm at an occupied vehicle for the June 4 shooting death of 22-year-old Calvin Sneed.
