What is the deal with girls having rape fantasies?
I've actually thought a lot about this and what the appeal is. I have had dreams where I was raped and wondered why my mind would even come up with that. In my opinion, rape can be appealing to a woman because it allows her to take enjoyment in things she would otherwise feel guilty about. For instance, I have fantasies about rough sex. Fantasizing about that in a rape situation allowed me to think about this guilty pleasure without feeling guilty. Another benefit is the idea of not having any control. As a woman we are forced to make decisions not only for ourselves, but for our job and our family as well. Having to make choices for a number of people can be overwhelming. The idea of having no control is very appealing to some women.

Obviously, rape is a serious thing and not condoned under any circumstance, but rape fantasies are fairly common. Many women have thoughts about being overpowered by a man, and imagining a rape is a guilty free way of doing so. In my opinion, there shouldn't be that much stigma regarding fantasies people have. Women should not feel guilty about wanting to be overpowered or having their control taken over. However, society makes such thoughts taboo, which is why being forced into it is appealing for some women.

Having said that, just because a woman fantasizes about rape doesn't mean she actually wants to be raped. Some women like the thought of roleplaying a rape with their partner, but that must be discussed and agreed upon first. Boundaries and/or code words must be discussed before you can venture into something like that. Talk to your partner beforehand about what fantasies they've had. Women often have things they'd like to do/try that they are too ashamed to actually try. That's when being 'forced' into something is very appealing and erotic. It allows a woman to act out such fantasies without feeling like a 'freak'. Helping your partner open up to their fantasies and acting them out is a very powerful thing, and can make for a very enjoyable experience for all involved.
