Pow Pow - Last Days on Earth

i don't know how much you are affected by retro sounding instruments, but i'll tell you this:
pow pow's last days on earth is a space disco inferno unlike anyone else. this is krautrock outside any known league.
this is what the life of mog soundtrack sounds like when i'm sober and semi sober. what you hear is arps, pads and analogue synthesizers at work creating a space disco landscape! god fukken damnit, i will curse our saviour to hell while using the same powers to tell you why pow pow is amazing. this is the fukken soundtrack of modern scifi gone retro, this is how the universe sounds through modern synthesizers. i can hardly comprehend what's happening in my headset !!!! well, partially cos i was high on coke the last time i saw pow pow live! but drugs do not matter, cos i saw them for the first time two years ago, feb 2010, and i was properly amazed, cos a band of musicians can still provide these sounds in 2013 without being dependant of external instruments.

the not so good part of pow pow's last days on earth is every track after the last days on earth, which is instrumental and in the search of a thread. after the first three or four tracks this sort of becomes muzak. but i'll tell you this: whatever you hear, no matter how late on the album, there was a person actually performing this. these are no lazy boys programming sounds and effects. if they want to impress, even for a second on a boring track on the albu
m they will not program the stuff, they'll hook up a synthesizer and play the damn thing. this is how you make a mediocre album with all of your heart. the songs may not impress, but the intention was worth tenfold the actual track.
I fukken love pow pow, cos they try really fukken hard. and even without suceeding they're paying to have a 7 foot by 15 foot lcd wall showing stars and whatnot during their non paying gigs. that is, in my book, the ultimate band!
download here!if you're a hipster motherfucker, there ain't many people into the norwegian space scene. if you enjoy music, these are happy soundscapes far from the dubstep kind. i fukken love pow pow, seen them live twice!
this is not a complete album, by far it is not! however, this is an album of music that searches in an entirely different direction than current mainstream music!
i love pow pow, i will admit that!
while i'd rank this as a top 20 album in my collection, this is not a top 20 lifetime album. it starts great, and it sort of plays the same cards over and over again. this is not a revolutionary album. it starts out great, but it doesn't go anywhere from there, and that's why this is only a superb, but not a great album. pow pow has an amazing future ahead of them as instrumental musicians, and i know that cos i fukken love synthesizers as well as retro sounding modern day bands!
i don't know how else to explain it, but if you ever want to try any kind of indie, make sure you try this one, cos it's 70s futuristic sounding because of all the old synthesizers!
any synth nerd knows you only need a monosynth. i would kill my mother for a jupiter 8 tho! the sad part is that it's true!
As I am listening to it they are hitting all the bases........Jean Michelle Jarre, Giorgio Moroder, Tomita.......even a bit of Sergio Leone. I bought my Juno at the Goodwill Thrift Store for 75 bucks. Best find of my life!!
however, if you're doing the jupiter, you have to pay!
i tried making the above link equal "jupiter 8 + linndrums = the 80s", and i will argue it is not far from the truth either
btw, moroder is awesome, and so much ahead of his time compared to the others you mentioned
edit: i've beefed up my system to the max, listening to the ark !
this music is so fukken amazing, so fukken analogue i can't belive it!!!~~~
however, if you're doing the jupiter, you have to pay!

Did you ever get into the FM Synths at all? Like the Yamaha DX7s and shiz?
sounds like early 80's crap
