This Aint News

So I just finished watching episode 5 of season 2 of a really painful show called Ashes to Ashes. It is an English show, sequel to the great show 'Life on Mars' with allot of the same cast remaining.

Now I absolutely loved Life on Mars. Not the stupid American version where they didn't even have the decency to keep the ending of the show the same, but instead did some idiotic mars landing thing that really had NOTHING to do with the show, but since the execs in American television think all of us viewers are morons, they changed it to that from the ending the BBC gave us that left us still wondering, "What the FUCK!". Personally I thought that was brilliant.

Ashes to Ashes tho was not such a good show. The first season was like a car wreck. I hated it, but had to watch to see where it was going to go. And it had Gene Hunt. Albeit a Hunt 10 years older and since it isn't the 70's anymore where men were Macho but the 80's where it was ok for men to show their sensitive side, he bugged me sometimes. He still had the greatest lines tho. "This case is moving about as fast as a bunch of spastics in a magnet factory" and when reading reading a suspect his rights, "Anything you say will be taken down, ripped up & shoved down your scrawny lil throat" or my personal favourite, "We're coppers not spies! Look at us: Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Twat". He still has the power to make me chuckle.

So at the end of season 1 I didn't really think they would renew it. It wasn't really any good. But lo and behold, on a Demonoid search, I found season 2. I couldn't help but download it. It was like a sick addiction, ya know? And in re-watching season 1 before seeing the new episodes, I realised that if I stopped comparing it to Life on Mars and just watched it as a separate show, it wasn't really that bad.

Now I can't do that cuz the stupid show keeps mentioning Sam Tyler and all, and now I do not know what to think. Grrrr...
