Stillz is back and its all about the Games. My first thought was to limit it to 3D Games but that is not what i want to do.
I want this to span from the old days from 70's consoles or if you know of anything older bring it to the table. Then there's the age of
amstrad and c64 and old apple machines that were not much use for anything other than playing side scrolling 2d games or word adventures.
We will go right through the nintendo, sega years with a few other dodgy consoles running about trying to muscle in on the profits.
From there sony gave birth to a ps1 and destroyed the market with the ps2 still with nintendo re-releasing their beloved games with better graphics with each console.
This should then bring us into the 90's where home pc's started to break into our bedrooms and studies with a 3d graphics card that slowly evolved into the gaming machines we have built today. Giving us stunning visuals and entertaining game play that has rivaled hollywood and beyond. Microsoft felt they didn't have enough money whilst monopolising the pc world they decided to break into the console market and began their rise to the top mostly because of sony's slow realease of the ps3 giving microsoft the upper hand. Whilst the two super powers of consoles battled over their massive user bases throwing them into never ending streams of alternate realities and stunning visuals that capivated the most hardened of mortal man, but they did not hear the tiny pitta patta of the Japanese feet slowing walking into Mordor and placing the Wii firmly ontop of mount ............ knocking them down off their perch with new innovation of the wii interactive controllers that brought you more into the gaming world than ever before and all this with a much cheaper machine with no way near as much power.
This proved good for the gaming world as microsoft and sony soon followed suit with their copy cat controllers, and has pushed the super powers into a new war of innovation which can only have good repercussions in the gaming world for years to come.
Lets not forget online games where pc's came into their own paving the way forward for console online play. Fromthe early days of Counter Strike and Medal of Honour Allied Assult to the massive universe of World of War Craft to the crazy team fortress and the endless stream of war games that just keep getting better and better, and of course i can't leave out the unreal universe the true kunfu of online world.
What the masters hold instore for us im sure it's going to be mind blowing as they step up the competition, I myself look forward to the future and the time where pc and consoles approach a singularity is not far off where streaming games like videos onto your ipad33 or home cinema system through super fast internet allowing you take full advantage of cloud sytems putting the average Joes use of home pc's into the history books. Well it might happen.
