there both pretty corrupt, but my guess is cos you live in Mexico you are able to see more of the non tourist areas. Not sure if you only visited Thailand or lived there, but i would assume the tourist areas are kept in better conditions.
Even in chicago, theres some areas that are almost spotless and if you go 10-20 blocks into a different area theres garbage and shitty looking houses and rusty ass cars everywhere.
