Ok so its='s my turn to be gay and ask for phone advice...
phone
Have the option of a new upgrade and was thinking of going with the Samsung Galaxy S2 because it's still a powerhouse of a phone and the size is just about manageable
BUT
I am also able to get the S3!!
What yall think?
i hate to say it but i have even been considering the ipnone4s!

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray is also wonderfully portable — but it's Sony.
Even though they have nice features, I'm reluctant to buy a HTC or Samsung (or similar phones), because they're simply too big :(
EDIT
I think it was the Galaxy Y or something that was more portable, but then you also sacrifice features and performance.

If you want the battery life of the Razr HD (and then some) then just get the 4300mAh extended battery.
If you're considering the iPhone then wait for the iPhone 5 in September/October, even if you don't want the iPhone 5, the 4S will come down in price.
Whatever you get, I recommend Three for the best experience (HSPA+ & 1000GB usage p/m).

i been saying it for years.....that these fucking things are actually making people anti-social in irl situations, everyone as soon as they are away from friends or whatever in public has to resort to the phone right away, as they're now seemingly uncomfortable being alone lol......pathetic

Yes.

phones used to be these things that sat on a table, would ring occasionally and if anyone was there to pick it up, one would be able to have a conversation with another person. Now, even within physical social gatherings half the crowd is hypnotized by their cell phones. Staring blankly into a tiny screen while occasionally using the touch screen or keyboard to surf, text or look at pictures. It's like one's whole life is defined by a tiny box. Jeezuz, get over it. When did every other person besome so vital to the world that 24/7 availability became a necessity?
Which extended battery? If it's not the Mugen one then it will suck balls.
Also assuming you meant public WiFi, apart from The Cloud, it sucks ass.
£32 a month on Three and you can have an S3, 500 mins, 5000 texts and Unlimited data ;) Just sayin'
Yeh, don't think 1GB would be enough for me... xD
Yes.
Using stock LG8 + CF-Root 6.4.

You're on the LG8 radio?
I'm still on LFB because it's compatible with my chosen theme (Jelly Bean Domination. Great looking theme, imho). Though I'll check out the LG8 one see if that's compatible.

I'm in the countryside :( I got 7Mbps the other day, but then it dropped back to 2Mbps a few hours alter.

If I put my S3 on my shelf I get 7Mbps, next to computer I get 5Mbps, during peak times on weekends it can drop as low as 3Mbps, rare though.
How many signal bars you get? If it's less than full, try and find a good place in your room, then just run WiFi tether (if your DSL sucks like mine).

AS for CWM, I'm running 6.0.1.0 touch. I don't like the chainfire one.

For me, updates > themes, always.
My signal strenth... 3 out of 4 bars... -99 dBm 7 asu.
Use opensignalmaps app to find your local mast and see what other areas it's covering.

Try different SIM from another network, maybe you're phones fucked lol.
Then again it could just well be a faulty Three mast, if you need to contact them, do it via their blog, then it's english support.

Getting 6Mbps on a torrent download at the moment via OpenVPN using tTorrent Pro (android app).
If you pay £10-15 Three will unlock it permanently.
Doh, I don't have any other micro sims.

Most operators will send you one for free.

Finger is pointing at your phone/firmware, you on LG8 yet?
Also was that test with your SIM?

Lol to think in Canada you pay $60 for 200 min, unlimited text and 6GB (LTE) per month.

No, that was with her Orange SIM in this area. I don't think my Micro-sim would come out so easily from her Desire.

Still an old update though, download Odin and flash LG8.
Funny thing is, Odin is actually more reliable than Kies (which can brick your phone).

I'll wait it out and see what this does. The guy was in exactly the same predicament as me and this sorted it out for him. If it does, I'll take a Nandroid backup and be sure to try LG8 with this LF6 Modem ;)

Post back when you got results.

I went from the shitty results I was posting to 2.45Mbps D and 1.45Mbps U.
I'm creating a Nandroid backup now and I've downloaded the Radio/Modem it was using NELF1. Going to see if it works with my old backup on LFB, if it does, then win, cause I can carry on using that theme, if not, I'm going to go back to LF6 and start deodexing the ROM and then use the theme.
Shit's a lot more stable connection-wise, though. Instead of connection errors I've got a stable as hell 2-2.45Mbps.

And yeah, that worked, just reflashed back to my LFB ROM, then flashed that modem and I'm getting decent speeds again. Problem solved.
Though, it doesn't really explain why I was getting H+ speeds in the exact same location the other day. I almost came all over my keyboard when I saw 7Mbps speeds. Made me miss my 50Mbit VM connection :)
