just to stir up some talk here... don't you HATE it when people take beautiful old things, like antique furniture, and totally fucking wreck them? helen killer AKA april winchell is one of my favourite bloggers and she reminded me today just how much "repurposing" can absolutely suck. LOOK WHAT THESE JERSEY CUNTS RUINED! it's infuriating.

I've got a set of antique wardrobes, nothing fancy but better than flatpack ikea crap... a few weeks back the g/f suggested painting them blue. I could have smacked her in the face. lol.

Someone should have told that woman or whoever owns that site that matte white was a fad in the 80's and 90's and is fucking dead, cause none of that furniture would sell around here. White is only applicable in that "open" or "clean" look to new designs in houses/condos/apts coming out, and generally they have clean cut lines, not victorian style hand carved masterpieces. She/they could make a shit tonne more money if they simply properly restored the furniture. It's just an insult to see mohagany or fruitwood painted over with latex.
While I must auto-uptriangle Helen Killer, I just so want to downtriangle for massive shabby-chic, hot-pink paint puke fail.
Sidenote: One thing I saw on Regretsy that I desperately wish I owned -

I do needlepoint Fido, but I'm terrible at design.
