The Times-Picayune - the only daily newspaper in New Orleans - has announced sweeping job cuts as part of a plan to abandon its print edition four days a week.
I used to read this paper every Sunday. It is a lot more than just a New Orleans Paper, its the biggest paper from Baton Rouge to Hattiesburg, MS.
Whats bad, is that they say they will reinvest the money they are going to save from not printing on 4 days of the week, but i seriously doubt that.
I like BBC news for the US, cause there are things covered that wouldn't here int he US, but i see the Time-Picayune becoming a lot like http://www.dailymail.co.uk. lots of stories, but written and edited badly. I am always seeing the a work speed correctly, but the wrong word for the sentence, as if spell check was run, and the first work selected no matter if it fits or not.

I think Warren Buffet recently purchased this paper as part of a media group. I recall him saying he was none to happy with the decision. He commented to the effect that why the fuck even call it a newspaper if you're not going to publish 7 days a week.
