David Cameron has criticised the comedian Jimmy Carr, describing him as "morally wrong" for seeking to avoid taxes.
Media reports of Carr's financial arrangements suggest "straightforward tax avoidance", said the prime minister, and it was unfair on the people who pay to watch him perform that he is not paying his taxes in the same way that they do.

It was a military incursion of extremely questionable motives. It was a fucking war. A very short one. But a war non-the-less.
Blair took 4 years in power before he committed to a military expedition. Cameron was in power for no less of a whiff of a nats bollock before he dumped £1bn on fighting a war thing in Libya. Where's his demand for military action in Syria where shit's 20 times worse than Libya? From the sounds of the Leveson inquiry it seems like Blair was put under intense pressure form the US government and Murdoch's media empire prior to the war (not excusing those wars, the amount of money spent and death caused by BLIAR, though) where as it seems more like Cameron wanted to cut his teeth and show his balls.
uh oh! One war! Hang him up in the hall of warrior generals alongside khan, alexander, and jean luc picard

by your rationale russia would have been at war with america during vietnam (cold war aside)... or the french at war with us (UK) during the falklands.
all we did was send in some advisors, help out with a few air strikes and supply a few arms.
a "few" air strikes? In sex weeks we flew 1,200 "sorties" over Libya, 1,300 total and fired 13 Cruise Missiles.

We were telling them what to do, arming them and doing some of the heavy lifting. Like I said it was a war in all but name.

Thing is I'm not getting confused about things. I know exactly what happened. I know how it differs from Afghanistan and Iraq. But it's still just as bad. Sticking our noses in where it's not wanted because of selfish interests. It's as bad as war.

no shit. my statement still stands. i would be very displeased if my government acted against the nations self interest.
also do you ever wonder how quickly intervention in syria would escalate out of control? russia and iran both have a stake in the matter, do you think they'd stand idly by?
you are a naive bleeding heart with little in the way of deductive reasoning ability. tell me, why do you think most of the world speaks english? because england acted with humanitarian motives yeah?

Otherwise, way to derail a perfectly good thread about tax evasion, with your silly low-level theories about the ethics of warmongering. Start a goddamn forum. Or better yet, post your opinions with articles to back up your thinking. Lazy hormonal bastards.

that's how it works. i'm sorry it doesn't fit into your idealistic outlook.
don't forget the small matter of the war machine that has sustained the economy since the great depression. selling guns is also a good way to get some of the trade imbalances back from the petrostates.
