I usually see OnLive and Steam as examples of why piracy won't kill the video game industry. They serve as examples of people paying for a service, if distribution is made easy. The other example I always see is iTunes... the other phones don't seem to have replicated that success.

Being a 100% pirate and have never, and probably will never pay for a game in my lifetime, i still don't understand steam. I know matt and someone else explained to me in a thread that you can get games for bloody cheap, and instead of having to run to the store to buy it, you can just download it on the computer
