A stay-at-home mom from La Porte has filed a lawsuit against the city's police department, an officer and one of her neighbors because she was arrested for letting her children play outside.

when i was a kid we'd ride our bikes around town, we could be 5 miles from home, and no one had a slight fucking clue about it, and all the kids did this, we grew up to be much better for it i'm sure, and our parents didn't go to jail, or have to quit drinking their beers because some whiney fucking kid of theirs couldn't find shit to do because it was all re-runs on tv......

word up, man. i disappeared into this gully by my apartment for something like 4 hours one day. me and a buddy got stuck in a fucking mile long bramble patch. we came back with our clothes cut to shreds and scratches from head to toe. my mom was all 'huh. here are some bandages. don't be stupid next time, bring a bigger knife'.

and if you were out too late its not that they were worried about you, its that you probably didn't get all your chores done, so you got more the next fuckin' day lol

me and my brother had as much run as we wanted for as long back as i can remember. we would go deep in the woods enough that you actually want to tell your parents will be in case shit goes south.

didnt have "the woods" at my neighborhood. it was "avoid the gangbangers" on the next street growing up.

All these kids are going to grow up to be socially awkward and fearful of society. Like fido and mmat said, when we were all kids we used to run the fuck around anywhere, till anytime. If they don't learn to take care of themselves and get up from being hurt and get stronger, they'll grow up to be a completely dysfuctional adult that will most likely need to be coddled through life.

No woods either, we'd play in the construction sites. Not so many gang bangers unless you counted us. I'd be out in the summer every day from dawn til I'd get grounded. Parents didn't worry so much then. It was a Leave it to Beaver world. But with sometimes angry beavers.
