Officials are looking to turn the once thriving city into a semi-rural landscape by relocating remaining residents and turn vacant areas into farmland. Crazy enough to work?
this is kind of amazing... I have lived in a growing city my whole life (brisbane is one of the fastest growing and most popular cities in Australia attracting thousands of faggy southern immigrants every year) and the concept that a city could shrink is just beyond my personal experience.
^ yeah, well im from manchester, one of the most redeveloped areas in the uk in the last 10 years, and let me tell you theres more and more faggy fuckers coming up here and being bankers and that shit, walking about in suits, its not really on.
Was reading an article in the Guardian today about Detroit. Mad place, and fascinating. There's a bbc2 documentary on saturday night about the city- 'Requiem for Detroit?'. Look out for it bitches.
"One in five houses now stand empty. Property prices have fallen 80% or more in Detroit over the last three years. A three-bedroom house on Albany Street is still on the market for $1."
the first national bank of "money under the matres"
we gave them £160bn public money, you know, coz banks need it, but they cant fix the potholes in the roads, or fix the hospitals, schools etc etc
guardian.co.uk - Detroit: the last days
that cant be right, can it?
i'd buy that for a dollar
doesnt look like it takes long either.
