Are Acer monitors any good? I've had some bad experience with their laptops and the displays used in them.
I'm thinking about upgrading my 2-year old 19 in Asus, damn nice, but I'd like a little bigger, 21.5 in or maybe even 23 in. I prefer longevity and economy (price and power) and wouldn't want to go over 150 e. So far I've only had Asus monitors, and damn have they been good! If the PSU in the monitor hadn't died I'd still be using my 5-6 years old 17 in Asus. Nowadays they tend to be a bit expensive though, probably worth it...but still.
How about S222 HQL (ET.WS2HE.A01)? Since it's 16:9 the vertical size wouldn't be that much of a change, which is sort of bittersweet. Not to mention the greater resolution, which means worse performance in games and possibly a bit smaller type. How well does scaling work these days?
Another option would be the V233HAO (ET.VV3HE.A16) which is 23 in, so I'd have a very enjoyable increas in vertical size as well!
About the same price, but the bigger 23 in has lower contrast (80k vs. 12M) and a little higher response time (5 vs. 2), although I think I have 5 ms at the moment and probably couldn't tell the difference.
I've had two 22 inch samsungs for over a year and they are still great. Had an asus laptop which was ok - never had any acer stuff but I spose its probably alright
I bought a 22 inch LG two years ago and it works fine. A couple of friends of mine have Acer monitors and they have never said anything bad about them.
CPU - AMD. GPU - AMD, avoid OC/overclocked models, just cause problems and crossfire ain't worth it, save money and upgrade every year. Motherboard - AMD chipset. Case - Coolermaster. Power - Just make sure you get the wattage correct. HDD - Samsung. Monitor - Samsung.
↑ sure it is, i have 2 23" here, i use both all the time. well that's a lie, i only use the second one for working on tan, so it's turned off right now. but i couldn't do it [as easily] with just 1 monitor. anyway, i bet yer one of them who has every window maximised eh....

Edit: LED or LCD?
Edit 2: lol 150 e, not dollars... Okay!
My advice, never had a problem...

Settled for a Fujitsu E23T-6 that was on sale for only 130 EUR (176 USD). I think the original price was around 200 EUR (271 USD)?, so I'm happy :))
23 in
16:9, 1920x1080
LED backlight
VGA & DVI
4-way ergonomics
Hopefully I didn't bonk out on this one :/
Two 23" monitors? That, sir, is not necessity, that is trying to augment your phallic girth.
Oh snap, you gonna take this tuoni?!
