No gay marriage is amoral because a marriage is between a man and a woman. Sex between a man and a woman produces children. Sex between a man and a man or a woman and a woman produces no children. Offering no real benefit to society.
Most major religions dislike and out right bans the union of marriage between a man and a man and a woman and a woman.
Most religions are cherry picked. When people don't like the rules, they either disregard them or form their own sub group or denomination.
Lets see here.
1. I shave daily. I like to keep my goatee looking neat 2.I've been cursing since i was a kid. Not going to change now 3. Not much of a gossip, never cared about who was fucking who or who or that sort of nonsense 4. I totally agree with.... Football just seems better on sunday. Saturday is for Basketball 5. Don't eat lobster...I don't eat much seafood. 6. Guilty, i love BBQ pork ribs, don't like beef ribs 7. Not sure if i owned a cotton shirt at some point in my life. 8. Whoa, there...I have to get back with you on that one.

More sex, more grooming. The more grooming the bigger ape pack and better bonds between apes. Homosexual sex between bonobo apes serves as bonding factor between individual apes and also serves to satisfy any grievances or to stop hostilities.
Just saying, cause you are christian and you guys are not that good with science.

^ Actually we ARE. But we are considered the smartest of the apes. Considered by us, of course.
And your link is funny cause Charles Darwin the man who formulated Theory Of Evolution, which puts humans into higher primates category is not on that list.
27 living christian thinkers. A dying breed ?

A dying breed, no far from it. I don't have time to list every scientist, researcher.....etc That practices the Christian faith. Just because you practice a religion, doesn't mean you have to reject science. You don't really think that only atheist can be scientist?
We just happen to share 97-98% of our DNA with them thats all.

It's amazing what evolution and a random mutation every now and then can do to a species.

True, just responded to the bible thinks that gay marriage is amoral and the cherry picking charge. Most major religions don't see Gay marriage as equal to heterosexual marriage. The folks on TAN make it seem like christians are leading the charge against Gay marriage. When in fact the cry against Gay marriage cuts across religious, social and racial lines. I know societies views on sex and marriage changes with each generation. It amazes me that no one wants speak out or comment on the ever changing slippery slope of tolerated human sexual practices. Hell, we got a story on Bestiality laws here. You folks are seem to have this idea that if it feels good, you can stick it any where, regardless of the consequences. Anybody that speaks out is a religious zealot or a part of the sex police.

I think every major religion has people on both sides of this issue. In this country, every major religion had groups that pushed for the LEGALIZATION of same-sex marriage. Judeo-Christian Conservatives seem to be the most vocally opposed, and get the most attention. I tend to think of Islam/Christianity/Judaism as the same religion, given their same root history, so this debate has mostly just been their Conservatives vs everyone else.
It amazes me that no one wants speak out or comment on the ever changing slippery slope of tolerated human sexual practices. Hell, we got a story on Bestiality laws here.
Yeah, according to studies, one in six men in Iowa has had sex with a chicken. Once it starts to become an issue, places do start to introduce laws.
But I don't think it has been a slippery slope. I think it has been a rationalization of laws. We tend to drop restrictions that have no logical state interest, and are rooted in pure religion.
Over time, we have also recognized the rights of animals, and we have given them protections against sexual abuse. This is just because we have discovered evolution and the basis of life, and the association of the brain to the mind. People used to believe rights only extended to people, because we have some soul that allows us to think and feel - we now know that is not the case. Chicken-sex used to be a common part of life - especially in early colonial America.
When you say same-sex marriage is just immoral, we aren't really sure what your basis for this may be. We know from your previous statement, you aren't going by some obsolete Biblical tradition. Same-sex marriage is recognized here, so it's really not inherently obvious, as Ed always says.
The purpose of marriage is not to have sex. It is perfectly legal to have sex before you are married. The purpose of marriage is not to produce children - you can do this without being married, and there are plenty of married people who choose or cannot have children. Perhaps being married can be useful in *raising* children, but we know same-sex couples raise children just as well as everyone else.
Having children is not even a particularly important thing right now. We have lotsa youngsters out there... if anything, we need more couples to adopt the existing children and raise them. It would make more sense to the public to expand marriage to all couples, to facilitate this.

Not really. I personally think its fucking disgusting. But I also realize that it doesnt infringe whatsoever on any aspect of my life(being offended does not count as infringing), so who am I to judge? Whatever they choose to do is their choice and it's not hurting anyone else. And while youre right that there are many other religions that attack the idea of gay marriage, Christianity is the one leading the charge in the US. We are inundated with it and there are battles in state senates all over the US on this issue on the grounds of it being against Christian faith. There arent any Bible belt law makers who are citing the Koran when they try to uphold laws against gay marriage.

Are you trying to suggest that Bestiality is comparable to homosexuality? Because I'm fairly sure only the latter falls under the "consensual" category. Also you're going to hell.

Could just be a socialized reaction. Not sure. I know my parents are slightly sickened by interracial dating, and I may have felt the same under their care... but when I got out and started interacting with girls from other ethnicities, I completely changed.
Likewise, most girls I've known intimately have expressed some attraction to other girls. Now I'm just so used to it, I don't give it a second thought.

Most likely. But again I don't hate them for it. I just find it unappealing. The only thing i hate are pride parades. Not just gay pride, but black pride, white pride. You want equality in life, yet you segregate yourself? Not to mention, if you want to argue that you were born that way(which i believe) then how can you be proud of it? All pride events do is segment society that much more.

Dude, you have to judge at some point. Would you sit back and let some guy screw a child (like 6 years old) in the next room? Even if that doesn't infringe on you what so ever. Would you feel comfortable watching an interview with a guy that married his horse and it's the best sex he ever had. What if you over hearded a guy bragging about how good his daughter gives a blowjob. None of this affect you in any way. I know this is the extreme end of the spectrum, but this is the brave new world we as a society is heading. Would it offend you? Even if the laws says it's okay, would you speak out about it? What's wrong with being offended on some issues? What is wrong with letting folks know how you feel?

Woa woa woa hold on. Those children do not have the power to choose what happens to them. They are minors. So THEIR rights are being infringed on. They can not offer any sort of consent and thats the whole point of this. When I say it doesnt infringe on my rights, that mindset is meant to apply to EVERYONE. As for being offended, go ahead be offended. But that doesnt give you the legal right to not give them the same rights every other citizen in the US has. You can't go passing laws that infringe on the civil liberties of a specific subset of the population.
I know this is the extreme end of the spectrum, but this is the brave new world we as a society is heading.
I'm pretty sure society is moving the opposite way you are suggesting. Less animal sex, less child sex, etc. The old world was full of crazy shit like that. Our laws are maturing because we recognize rights to children, women, minorities, and animals that old customs, laws, and religions did not.
As Insomniac is saying, those are crimes because you have a victim. The laws are based in logic.
You seem to be suggesting our laws are based on what we find "sick", which is simply not the case. We generally have to be taught through society what is gross.

You don't seem to grasp the idea of consent. Children and animals cannot give consent homosexual couples can.

Wait, remind me the history of changing practice of human sexuality...
20000 AD - 5000 AD whatever 5000 AD whatever. 4000 AD whatever. 3000 AD whatever. 2000-1000 AD whatever, Ancient Greece, Sacred Religious Prostitution, gay sex and marriages, spartan faggots. 1000-0 AD whatever, Roman faggotry, Sacred Religious Prostitution, gay sex and marriages. 400-1500 Dark Ages of Monotheism, no freedoms whatsovever, no prostitution, no nudity, no gay sex, no sex before marriage, no showing of face and hair for women in public, sex is a SIN and a shameful act, only done for procreation. Woman is primal sin and should be ashamed. 1500-1900 church laws and superstitions start to diminish. As the inquisition power ends, herecies bloom and church splits into many branches. 1900-2010 sexual revolution, whatever, except for pedophily.
What can you tell other people of sexual practices if your outdated doctrine says SEX is SIN and it's only to be used for procreation ?
Your "changing practice of human sexuality" refers to about 1200 years of retarded monotheism-sponsored Dark Age which started in 400 all while we find naked voluptious big-titted statues of old Mother Goddess from 20 000 - 24 000 BC, way before abrahamic stories of shame and sin.

You should object because they are attempting to force you into endorsing an ABSURDITY, and thus making a fool of yourself for the sake of political correctness.
I don't give a shit what they do in their sex lives - but marriage is between members of the opposite sex - and includes plural marriage.

Look, I am Catholic, and do not mind gay marriage in society BUT there is no place for them in Catholicism. Think of it as a club, you have to follow certain rules or you are out the door and one of them happens to be gay status. You can be gay alright, you can be a good person and contibute to society, we just RSVP memebers who follow this set of rules. You can even go create a rligion or worship Jesus if you would like just not in our club house

By the way, marriage predates christianity. In fact same-sex marriage predates christianity as well so...there goes THAT argument. Christianity does not give us a moral compass.

There arent any Bible belt law makers who are citing the Koran when they try to uphold laws against gay marriage.

More sex, more grooming. The more grooming the bigger ape pack and better bonds between apes. Homosexual sex between bonobo apes serves as bonding factor between individual apes and also serves to satisfy any grievances or to stop hostilities.

Why the fuck are you talking about apes n shit? we're talking about humans, numbnuts.

Not really. I personally think its fucking disgusting. But I also realize that it doesnt infringe whatsoever on any aspect of my life(being offended does not count as infringing), so who am I to judge? Whatever they choose to do is their choice and it's not hurting anyone else.

Wait, remind me the history of changing practice of human sexuality...
20000 AD - 5000 AD whatever
5000 AD whatever.

No is forcing you to marry a dude. So, what's your problem? Gay marriage doesn't affect me in the slightest to why the fuck should I object?
You should object because they are attempting to force you into endorsing an ABSURDITY, and thus making a fool of yourself for the sake of political correctness.
I don't give a shit what they do in their sex lives - but marriage is between members of the opposite sex - and includes plural marriage.

Hahaha, none of that actually happens, though. If two dudes wanan get married let them. I couldn't give a flying fuck. I'm more liekyl to object to absurd reasoning as to why they can't, though. Gay people are ok. It's camp people I don't like.

Most major religions dislike and out right bans the union of marriage between a man and a man and a woman and a woman.
Most religions are cherry picked. When people don't like the rules, they either disregard them or form their own sub group or denomination.
Lets see here.
1. I shave daily. I like to keep my goatee looking neat
2.I've been cursing since i was a kid. Not going to change now
3. Not much of a gossip, never cared about who was fucking who or who or that sort of nonsense
4. I totally agree with.... Football just seems better on sunday. Saturday is for Basketball
5. Don't eat lobster...I don't eat much seafood.
6. Guilty, i love BBQ pork ribs, don't like beef ribs
7. Not sure if i owned a cotton shirt at some point in my life.
8. Whoa, there...I have to get back with you on that one.
lol you are out of touch with reality, unfortunately for everyone who has a brain you people are quite populous. Go FUCK YOURSELF.
