t-birds make wicked drag cars, still based on the fox body from 79' to 2004 in the mustang, 1994's were called sn95 bodystyle, but it was a variation of the fox body, the style was kept till 2004.........bang for the buck you can't even come close to touching them with the biggest aftermarket of any car made ever......... for 10-15 grand that car can look brand new, and be an honest 10.50 drag car....and handle

first gut the engine compartment, toss out the fenderwells, mofify the suspension to fit the big block upgrade the trans and scrap the rear end,  add subframe connecters and cross bracing. Add a million more necessary mods then Look at what you have and discover it would have been cheaper to buy a new Z06.

its also got more aftermarket than any of the so called 'sports' cars that you like beelzebub..........you can make one of these cars do anything with the support that they have

basically the whole point isn't to have the best looking or most popular car, the point is to have a drag car that i can race often and not break anything, and these things are reliable as a cast iron frying pan, and anything i do to it will only increase that

Fast drag car and reliable car are opposites. Any car that is really fast is not reliable and anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool.

really depends on how much money you spend for high quality materials......most of the time power and reliability are trade offs for sure, but if you've built your car to withstand 1000 hp and you only put out 7-800, you're pretty safe

i have wanted to get a Holden VB Commodore SLE for a while now. my plan is to paint it all black, put in a 6.2 LS3 and keep it completely stock on the outside except for the rims.... i would love to scare the shit out of all these wankers in their new sports cars with old school Aussie/American muscle.... would also love to get a XB/XC Fold Falcon Coupe, but they are just too freaking expensive.....

If you built the car to withstand 1000hp and you only put 7-800 in it then it isnt fast - its mediocre.

a 9 second 3000lb street legal car isn't fast?

If you're doing 9 seconds (and thats a big if I highly doubt you'll get under 11) Then it means you're pushing the technology. Even if the engine can handle it you will have issues with: engine mounts, drivetrain (geabox, diff, tailshaft, potential bodywarp etc. There is no such thing as a reliable 9 second car.

I dont believe you will ever get under 10 seconds. The day you do 9 seconds in that bucket (with appropriate evidence of course) I'll donate $200 to TAN.

the point of this car is the fact is has a longer wheelbase, and its easy to modify the chassis, very cheaply the suspension is basic, and with huge aftermarket support, the engine can be built for under 5000 dollars, and be reliable as its a naturally aspirated big cube motor.....' no replacement for displacement' with 10.5" slicks it will be an easy 9 second car running on 110 octane for its 13:1 or 14:1 compression ratio..........yeah it can be extremely reliable, a 2000 dollar race ready c-6 transmission can be built to easily handle the torque, and a for 9 inch rear end can be built for about 1500 bucks to handle the rear...........i can build this entire car for 15000 with roll cage, paint job, and all the internals, and make it a super reliable 9 second bracket racer..........you worry about engine mounts, the entire k-member will be replaced with a tubular steel unit, with solid engine mounts, it will have subrame connectors, shock tower connectors, torque box stiffeners, a six point roll cage which will add stiffness to the unibody probably in the 50 percent range.............cost under 500 bucks.......all done and welded by myself.......this is a project i want to build myself, no one else.........i may have someone spray the paint as i've never done that before, but the rest would be my own labour........this car will do atleat high nine second 1/4 mile times, probably w/o tuning.......but it would be a more fun 10.5 second bracket racer

You know I really have to thank you Mmateri, months ago you brought up the fact that the ranger uses proven technology and is overbuilt for its size, making it super reliable and 4x4 capable. I'm now getting one and will take care of it as if it were my baby.

And FUCK ford for dropping the ranger & redesigning it into the POS it is today, also that version aint even in NA.. lmao.. Greedy fucks just want everyone to buy a f150. fuck that shit.

2000-2011 the look of the ranger barely changed- that to me signals they concentrated on improving its reliability, not aesthetic look (which matters not).
